On the slopes of Kilimanjaro is Materuni village, where the Materuni waterfall is located. On this day trip, we will drive to the village, hike about 45 mintues to Materuni waterfalls. The hike itself walks through the local village with locals going about their day. The waterfall has breathtaking views, and remember to bring your swimsuit if you are brave enough to go for a swim at the base of the waterfall. But it is cold, as the water is directly coming from the glaciers on top of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After visiting the waterfall we will stop at a local coffee farm, where you can learn how to roast a cup of coffee starting from picking the beans and ending with a perfectly brewed cup of coffee. The slopes of Kilimanjaro produce some of the best coffee in Africa, and this is a great way to better understand the Chagga culture. After enjoying your coffee tour, we will have traditional Chagga lunch in the village. With the opportunity to try the commonly drank local banana beer.
