Balloon safaris are available in several Serengeti regions, with launch zones selected based on seasonality and wildlife movement:
Seronera (Central Serengeti) – Year-round flights with excellent sightings of resident wildlife and classic endless plains.
Ndutu (Southern Serengeti) – Seasonal from December to March during the Great Migration calving season.
Kogatende (Northern Serengeti) – July to October, when herds cross the Mara River—a spectacular aerial view.
Kirawira (Western Corridor) – May to July, offering lush landscapes and fewer crowds in this remote sector.
From June to October during the dry season, balloon safaris are available over Tarangire’s river valleys and ancient baobabs, with large elephant herds and stunning scenery. A more exclusive, intimate flying experience, especially for wildlife lovers and photographers.
Your experience begins before dawn, with a transfer to the launch site from your camp or lodge. After a warm coffee or tea and a safety briefing, watch the balloon inflate and rise with the light of the morning. The flight lasts about 1 hour, followed by a champagne celebration and a freshly prepared bush breakfast under the open sky.
